Density SMP in Manchester makes thinning hair look thicker by placing tiny pigment dots between your existing hairs in your own hair colour, so you do not need to shave your head. It works for men and women, on the crown, top or temples.
Not everyone who is losing hair wants to shave it all off. If your hair is thinning but you want to keep some length, scalp micropigmentation (SMP) for density can make the hair you still have look thicker and fuller.
Density SMP is a different treatment from SMP for alopecia or SMP for baldness. Instead of recreating a full shaved head, tiny pigment dots are placed between your existing hairs, in the colour of your natural hair. This reduces the contrast between your hair and your scalp, so the scalp shows through less and the hair looks denser.
It can be used on the crown, on top of the head, at the temples or anywhere the hair has become see-through, for both men and women.

Your free consultation is where we look at your hair and scalp, talk about the look you want and decide together whether density SMP is right for you. You can visit the clinic or send us photos by email.
Colour Matching
The pigment is matched to your natural hair colour. In the first session we won’t go too dark, so we can see how the colour settles before adding more.
Pigmentation
Tiny pigment dots are placed between your existing hairs, building up the look of density gradually and evenly across the thinning area.
Multiple Sessions
The treatment is done over three visits, with a 14-day gap after the first visit and a recommended 4-week gap before the last, so the density can be built up layer by layer.
Aftercare
For the first 4 days, avoid the gym, washing your head and heavy sweating. We will give you full aftercare instructions to help the pigment settle well.

Is the treatment safe?
The treatment is perfectly safe, we dispose of all needles after each treatment and the equipment is cleaned after every client.
Are the results permanent?
Results are permanent, but touch-ups are needed every 1-3 years. Depending on lifestyle and immune system, it can be longer before a touch-up is required.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment is done over three visits, and the length of each visit depends on the treatment you are having. Visit one will take between 2 and 8 hours, then there is a 14-day gap before visit two, which will again take around 2 to 8 hours. We then recommend a 4-week gap before the final visit, which will take approximately 2 to 8 hours.
How will you get the right colour shade?
In the first session we won’t go too dark, and we will see how the colour has settled. At the second and third sessions we can add more colour if required to get the perfect colour match.
How long will the redness last?
Each person is different and redness can last anything from 1-4 days.
Do I have to pay all in one go?
A deposit of £100 to £300, depending on the treatment being booked, is required to secure your booking; this is non-refundable. The remainder is split equally into three payments, one paid at each session.
