Recent statistics show that 50% of men over the age of 50 have some form of hair loss. The most common form of hair loss is called androgenetic alopecia, or male pattern baldness.

There are many over-the-counter medications and topical solutions that try to stop or reverse thinning or balding; however, over time, the inevitable happens: hair loss.

Scalp micropigmentation (SMP) for baldness is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to create the appearance of a fuller head of hair and that buzz cut look for individuals dealing with hair loss or baldness. It is a form of tattooing or permanent makeup for the scalp. SMP involves the use of specialised pigments and fine needles to deposit tiny, ink-like dots on the scalp in a way that mimics the look of hair follicles.

Here’s How The Process Generally Works

  1. Consultation

Before the procedure, you’ll typically have a consultation with our trained SMP technician or practitioner. During this consultation, you’ll discuss your goals and expectations, and the technician will determine the best approach.

  2. Design

The technician will work with you to design the desired hairline, density, and overall look. They’ll take into account factors like your skin tone and hair colour to ensure the pigmentation matches your natural appearance.

  3. Pigmentation

During the actual procedure, the technician will use a specialised SMP machine to deposit pigment into the upper layers of your scalp. They’ll carefully place these dots in a way that replicates the pattern of hair growth and the natural hairline. The pigment colour is typically matched to your existing hair colour for a seamless blend.

  4. Multiple Sessions

SMP is usually done in multiple sessions to achieve the desired density and colour. Each session may last 2 to 8 hours, and there is typically a healing period between sessions of a minimum of 14 days.

  5. Healing

After each session, your scalp may appear slightly red or irritated, but this usually subsides within a few days. It’s important to follow post-care instructions provided by your technician to ensure proper healing and pigment retention.

Confidence Boost
Many people who undergo SMP report an increase in self-confidence and improved self-esteem due to the enhanced appearance it provides.

It’s essential to choose a qualified and experienced SMP practitioner like us. Your new hairline is one of the most important elements of having Scalp Micropigmentation and we are dedicated to getting it right. There are many hairline styles that can be created, and we will work with you to create the perfect one for you. SMP is a long-lasting solution, but it may require touch-up sessions every few years to maintain its appearance, as the pigmentation can fade over time.

SMP TO REPLACE HAIR SYSTEMS

Scalp Micropigmentation is a great treatment for men and women who currently wear a hair system.

Scalp Micropigmentation is a virtually painless technique that hair system wearers can appreciate, whether male or female, and no matter what type of hair system you wear.

Systems are very expensive. Most clients require two systems, so they still have one to wear while the other is being cleaned from time to time by the supplier. Perhaps an even greater issue is maintenance, which after a few months drives many users to search for alternatives. If you’re a hair system wearer and considering Scalp Micropigmentation, you’ll be pleased to know you’re in a really great position to do so. We are able to schedule your appointments so that it looks like you are choosing to shave your head and show off your new full head of shaved hair.

Scalp Micropigmentation is tattooed hair follicles on your scalp that give you the appearance of a freshly shaved buzz cut if you are partially or completely bald, or of denser hair if you are suffering from alopecia or thinning hair. There is no scarring. SMP is a growing industry with many satisfied clients whose results can last for years with very little maintenance.

Your new hairline is one of the most important elements of having Scalp Micropigmentation and we are dedicated to getting it right. There are many hairline styles that can be created and we will work with you to create the perfect one for you. Things to take into consideration are the shape & finish on the hairline, whether that be a natural soft finish or a sharper look. Your hairline must be in the correct place to frame the face and achieve the best look.

Questions before you book

    • Is the treatment safe?

The treatment is perfectly safe, we dispose of all needles after each treatment and the equipment is cleaned after every client.

    • Are the results permanent?

Results are permanent, but touch-ups are needed every 1-3 years. Depending on lifestyle and immune system, it can be longer before a touch-up is required.

    • How long does the treatment take?

The treatment is done over three visits, and the length of each visit depends on the treatment you are having. Visit one will take between 2 and 8 hours, then there is a 14-day gap before visit two, which will again take around 2 to 8 hours. We then recommend a 4-week gap before the final visit, which will take approximately 2 to 8 hours.

    • How will you get the right colour shade?

In the first session we won’t go too dark, and we will see how the colour has settled. At the second and third sessions we can add more colour if required to get the perfect colour match.

    • How long will the redness last?

Each person is different and redness can last anything from 1-4 days.

    • Do I have to pay all in one go?

A deposit of £100 to £300, depending on the treatment being booked, is required to secure your booking; this is non-refundable. The remainder is split equally into three payments, one paid at each session.
